Is abortion an unresolvable issue? - Implications

The abortion debate has gone on long enough and needs to come to an end but unfortunately, I feel like the debate will never be fully compromised. Everyone has their own opinion, values and beliefs on life. The only way that the abortion debate could reach a common ground is if everyone thought the same way, which is highly unlikely. Nevertheless, we can try to get both sides closer to each other by finding things that both pro- life and pro-choice groups believe in. For instance, everyone believes that people should take care of and respect their bodies so that you won’t have to be in a situation where you would have to choose to get an abortion. Abortions would probably decrease, especially in teenagers, if birth control and the “morning after” pill were more easily accessible and free, as well as increasing sexual education classes . Also, if woman felt as if they were “equal” to men they will have more confidence in themselves and wouldn’t get pressured into doing things that they don’t want to do. Personally, I believe that abortions will continue to occur. even with people opposed to it, but will decrease over time. If by chance it does get resolved we will be better able to understand the way people think and how people think.

it is something that is resolvable.people just have have a sit down and talk about everything and then the implications will get cut down after all the talk

Well Ezzy that is more easier said than done. If that was the case, abortion would have been solved ages ago but because of the fact that people have such strong feelings regarding this topic people are not willing to let go of their opinions and compromise. I think that the ideas presented in the post will be able to at least bring the two sides closer to an agrement.

I would have to agree that the abortion debate will never be resolved. However, I think that both sides of the issue need to remember that the other side exists and somehow know that their side is not the only opinion out there.

I agree that it's impossible to resolve. You can make the "morning after pill" more accessible but then you will have those people who abuse it. Or you can continue to have restrictions on it and run the cost of having more abortions. It is difficult to have people resolve this issue because religion is used as the basis for many ideas, and asking someone to let go of their religious views is difficult. There could be ways to resolve it, but it will take lots of time and effort to understand both sides and come to a reasonable conclusion.

It would be so much better if abortions did not exist, but as that is not the case there is no way we can reverse it now. With that being said, I guess with time, and I mean decades, there is a slight chance that both sides of the issue will start to find common goals betwen each other and start closing the gap of differences amongst each other.

I feel abortion is an unresolvable issue. I'm actually writing about stem cell research, and I believe that the issues raised in stem cell research parallels with those of abortion. I believe that no matter what, people will still consider embryos as living things, not unless one day embryos start talking and say, "I'm alive, I'm alive." I use this humor because I know for a fact that this won't happen, thus continuing the controversy of where life begins.
I like how you mention the use of birth control and increasing sexual education classes. I'm an advocate of teenage awareness of sex.
I also believe abortions will continue to occur.

I think that the abortion issue will not be resolved. Even if birth control and the morning after pill were easier to access, there would still be women in the US who believe that abortion is a fine way to take care of an unwanted pregnancy. Until education is spread and everyone agrees on it (not likely) then the debate will go on. It's a viscous cycle of questions and debating answers...

abortion is murder, plain and simple. that is not merely my opinion but the teaching of the bible. Exodus 20:13 says "thou shalt not kill". follow gods word..
